Founder
Dr. Erika Fundelius Ph.D., TSVI, COMS
Erika (she/her) holds a bachelors and masters degrees from San Francisco State University, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on visual disabilities from Florida State University.
She is a certified and credentialed (CA, USA) orientation and mobility specialist. She is endorsed as a teacher of students with visual impairments (TSVI) in Florida, USA.
She currently works as an assistant professor at The University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Education.
Owner
Burak Arcan, M.A. TSVI, COMS
Burak (he/him) holds a master's degree in special education from San Francisco State University and is a certified and credentialed (CA, USA) orientation and mobility specialist. He is endorsed as a teacher of students with visual impairments (TSVI) in Florida, USA.
He initially trained as an archaeologist and hold a bachelors from Florida State University and a masters from Bilkent University in Ankara, TR in the field.
He currently contracts for orientation and mobility services with SD 43 in Coquitlam, BC.
Land Acknowledgement
We moved to Vancouver, BC in July 2023. Since then, we have come to appreciate the land that we are privileged to call home. We appreciate the opportunity to serve all people living on these lands.
Erika's work has us live on UBC's campus, which is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people which has been a land of learning.
Burak's current work covers the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of he kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) people since before remembrance.
